I Didn’t Order Any Lemons…

16 Mar

Yesterday was probably a pretty gut wrenching day. Not my worst, but definitely not my best. Someday I’ll write about what got me to this point but this is not the day. Today is for new beginnings, a second chance and a glaring focus on all the good people I have around me.

So I’ll start with the first!

1. My daughter.

The Nugget is the greatest. She’s smart, funny and has a great sense of humor (for a toddler). When I was pregnant I used to envision what she’d be like and though I wasn’t far off, she still never ceases to amaze me. I will never forget her first word (“Wiggle”) or the first time she discovered her favorite food (Chocolate). Nugget is brutally honest and lover of tutu’s.

2. My husband.

He’s my best friend. I don’t mean that in the gushy wedding vows sort of way. I mean it in the truest sense of the word. I can tell him anything and get an honest response. He’s supportive, even when he may have his reservations about some endeavors.

3. My family.

They are many in number and full of love. When there is trouble or joy they are there to share it all. I am grateful to and for them.

4. Gypsy Phoenix

At times getting a handful of women together in the same room can be an undertaking. Other times it can be as easy as falling off a horse. This troupe has been a second family to me. They are supportive and encouraging. Without them I would not have half a dozen spangly bras hanging in my closet and a million memories in my heart.

Like the Oscars I can hear that orchestra playing in my head. I could list the number of people I love and care about that I’m grateful for. I could cite yarn or crafting but that’s rather obvious.

This blog is created to focus on the great things in life, to help remind ME that I’m not without great things in my life because some terrible things happened.

I’ll end this post with a quote I love dearly:

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant.” – The Eleventh Doctor
