Happy Friday Things

21 Feb

Hello there.

I’ve been away from this blog for quite some time. Tragic, really. I feel like I’m back to a place in life where I can open myself back up and share with others what I’ve been up to. Don’t expect a lot of lengthy posts just yet, I’ll be easing my way back in.

To start, I’ll make up a list of happy things. They could be anything but the key point is this list reminds me of what make me happy.

1. Four day weeks.
2. Cat snuggles.
3. A pile of granny squares
4. Alex Boye’s cover of Royals.
5. Helping The Nugget with her letters.

Happy Friday!

Some Time Away

22 Apr

I haven’t forgotten the blog! My new job is on a different schedule than I’m used to as of late and so I’m still trying to find a good balance between Internet time and time with the Nugget and James. I’m working on some posts and new projects so there will be more. Stay tuned!

The Nugget and I are glad it’s Friday!

A Happy Birthday!

11 Apr

I’ve survived another year and rolled my level up to 27. The celebrations won’t be today specifically but they’ll be later on this week or weekend. Lots of things going on for the remainder of this week and then…I start my new job! I’m so excited and it really is the best present I could receive! Thanks, Universe!

Liebster Award

11 Apr

I’m honored to have been nominated for a Liebster Award! Thanks, Cro29! I’m still new and this is a fun sort of award to get to know the blogs that have a smaller audience or are just starting out.

The Rules

1. Post eleven facts about myself.
2. Answer the questions the tagger has set and create eleven questions for the people I’ve nominated.
3. Choose eleven people (with fewer than 200 followers) to give this award to and link to them in my post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. Remember, no tag backs.

11 Facts About Myself:

1. I love llamas and gnomes

2. My favorite comic book hero is Thor, followed closely by Wolverine and Hellboy

3. I am terrified of falling from high places.

4. I have about fifty bottles of nail polish

5. I cry every time I watch “Vincent and the Doctor”

6. I ❤ ❤ Dr. Who, a lot.

7. I love rainbows.

8. I dislike zombies. I will leave the room and put on headphones to avoid having to be in their presence.

9. I grew up in the Midwest and Partly in the North West. This makes for a very interesting dialect when I get excited.

11. My favorite show is Grimm currently. I love Monroe!

My New Motto

7 Apr

I Didn’t Order Any Lemons…

16 Mar

Yesterday was probably a pretty gut wrenching day. Not my worst, but definitely not my best. Someday I’ll write about what got me to this point but this is not the day. Today is for new beginnings, a second chance and a glaring focus on all the good people I have around me.

So I’ll start with the first!

1. My daughter.

The Nugget is the greatest. She’s smart, funny and has a great sense of humor (for a toddler). When I was pregnant I used to envision what she’d be like and though I wasn’t far off, she still never ceases to amaze me. I will never forget her first word (“Wiggle”) or the first time she discovered her favorite food (Chocolate). Nugget is brutally honest and lover of tutu’s.

2. My husband.

He’s my best friend. I don’t mean that in the gushy wedding vows sort of way. I mean it in the truest sense of the word. I can tell him anything and get an honest response. He’s supportive, even when he may have his reservations about some endeavors.

3. My family.

They are many in number and full of love. When there is trouble or joy they are there to share it all. I am grateful to and for them.

4. Gypsy Phoenix

At times getting a handful of women together in the same room can be an undertaking. Other times it can be as easy as falling off a horse. This troupe has been a second family to me. They are supportive and encouraging. Without them I would not have half a dozen spangly bras hanging in my closet and a million memories in my heart.

Like the Oscars I can hear that orchestra playing in my head. I could list the number of people I love and care about that I’m grateful for. I could cite yarn or crafting but that’s rather obvious.

This blog is created to focus on the great things in life, to help remind ME that I’m not without great things in my life because some terrible things happened.

I’ll end this post with a quote I love dearly:

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant.” – The Eleventh Doctor
